Saya no Uta

I like to start by mentioning that this is the first visual novel I've actually finished; clearing all the routes. Saya no Uta is a pretty short VN, it only takes around 5-10 hours to complete. But never the less the story throws you many twists and turns that makes you want to read on. The main selling point of this VN is how interesting and unique the plot is.

Plot Synopsis:

Fuminori Sakisaka has a traffic accident which kills his parents and leaves him heavily injured. When he has a brain surgery to save his life, his perception of the world changes: everything he sees becomes blood and guts, people's looks and voices seem like monsters, and food that normally appeals to him tastes disgusting.

As he contemplates suicide in the hospital, Fuminori meets a beautiful girl among the flesh-covered walls. She introduces herself as Saya, and is apparently looking for her father. Fuminori does not want to be separated from Saya, and asks her to live with him. She agrees.

The story is focused around the protagonist Sakisaka Fuminori and his partner in crime Saya. The remaining cast of characters includes Fuminori's former friends and his physician who are both worried about him and suspicious of his behavior after his accident.

The music is extremely good throught. Every song really set the overall mood for each scene so well. The music in this can makes you feel a  wide range of emotions related to fear and joy. It will creep you out and excite you all at once. Personally the music is really a deciding factor for a VN considering your going to be subjected to it throughout playing the game; unless of course you mute your volume, but that's just boring.

 

The art was also quite good throughout. The average scene in Saya no Uta is extremely graphic either in the sense of nudity, gore, or both. If you don't have a tolerance for blood and guts I high suggest not even considering playing. Just from the basic idea of the VN - the protag seeing the world through a distorted perspective which turns everything into a mess of "meat" and blood - it's extremely NSFW and graphic.

This makes for many interesting scenes. Scenes with walls that seem to have gigantic stomachs growing on them along with all sorts of different tubes and organs. Scenes with the cute loli Saya streaked with blood. Scenes with disgusting aliens that are seemingly just balls of blood and thick, rough, veiny "skin" with eyes.

In conclusion I enjoyed Saya no Uta an extreme amount. I couldn't stop clicking through to the next scene for hour on hour. With an extremely interesting plot, well fitting, memorable music, and being in the horror genre (I enjoy horror) made this VN a perfect fit for me. Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita

Boobies. Boobies everywhere. The first that will come bouncy into your line of vision when you watch this anime is the ridiculously unrealistic oppai physics. This is an ecchi anime and you realize that as soon as you see the character design.

If your a fan of ecchi then you'll be sure to love yuushibu. There's plenty of fan service throughout the anime too keep your little pervy hearts pumping. But this might be a weak point to some who'll have trouble taking anything seriously when there's a panty shot every second frame. It it is hard to take serious, but that doesn't matter. Yuushibu is meant to be light hearted and entertaining for the most part, and it succeeds at that. The biggest selling part of this anime is Fino Bloodstone, the lovable and "scary" daughter of the fallen Demon Lord. This is a harem but for the most part the focus is on Fino. She lacks common sense and is care free, which leads to some interesting and funny scenes, such as...

Don't worry this isn't a tentacle hentai.

Besides Fino, for the main cast there is also the protagonist Raul Chaser and his ex rival turn potential romantic interest Airi Ortinet (the blonde girl getting groped in the picture. There's an assortment of other supporting characters, but ill just highlight my two favorites.

Lamdimia Do Aximemor (don't shorten her name)

 The story isn't anything extremely groundbreaking but it's unique in it's own way. It has many similarities to Hataraku Maou-sama! if you've ever seen that for reference. The short and sweet summary is that the protagonist Raul wants to become a hero but for certain reasons isn't able too, so he's forced to get a job at a magic store to survive. One day someone comes in with a resume asking for a job; after closing inspection it reveals they are the Demon Lord heir. The story proceeds from there building on Raul teaching this new employee, Fino Bloodstone, how to work at Leons and engage in proper employee-customer transactions.

The animation is extremely fluid and appealing throughout, with some really nice looking action scenes and overall very cute character design; as expect from most 2012 plus romcom anime. The only really complaint I have is the over use of those shiny pink orb things they put, to make the skin look smoother im guessing. I do think they look nice and can make scenes more erotic, but they just use them sooo excessively.

In conclusion if your looking for an easy going series that isn't too laid back and boring yuushibu is a good bet. Some may think its too slow paced, but I think it's paced out very well, with everything fitting together seamlessly and not feeling overly rushed or delayed.

The story revolves around Raul, a boy who did not become a Hero, since the demon lord was already defeated just before his Hero exams. His dreams dashed, Raul spends his days working at a magic shop in the capital. One day, a part-time job seeker appears at the shop with an amazing résumé:

Name: Fino
Previous Occupation: Demon Lord Heir
Motive: Because my father was defeated

The work comedy revolves around this former Hero-in-training and the daughter of the demon lord.
